Tuesday, November 15, 2022: “...we’ve had more families willing to adopt than we’ve had children that needed to be adopted and so I don’t believe we’re going to find an issue of not having enough resources for these children,” Herbie Newell with Lifeline Children’s Services said.
It was predicted that with the end of Roe v Wade in many states, there would be an increase in adoption. With over 123,000 families in our nation waiting to adopt babies, many mothers-to-be who find themselves not ready for the role of motherhood, have an array of options including open adoption.
An open adoption is where the biological parents have the opportunity not only to select the parents they feel would be best suited for their child but also have the option to continue contact with the adoptive parents and child afterward.
