Black Led Abortion Ad Does Not Speak for Black Women or Reality

An organization in Texas is trying to change the definition of self-care for black women. This repulsive and misguided information will cause more harm than good for the black population, which is already heavily in decline. These ads are primarily targeting women of color, encouraging abortions as actual "self-care" and negating the actual physical and emotional risks of abortions. This is the exact opposite of self-care as abortion. The abortion rate for black women is almost five times that for white women, and the very existence of abortion in America was one of eugenics and racism when Margaret Sanger founded Planned Parenthood and pushed abortion in the black community. The majority of abortion centers can be found in black and brown communities not because they believe that "black women take care of their families" but because they don't believe they can. They fail to realize that the killing of babies creates more of an issue not just for the black population but also for women's mental health.
Here are the facts:
95.7% of women get an abortion selectively or unspecified
2.5% of women get an abortion due to physical health reasons
1.3% of women get an abortion due to abnormalities in the preborn child
0.2% of women get an abortion due to life or major body issues
0.2-0.3 of women get an abortion due to rape or incest

Keep this in mind, black people represent 12.1% (which is in decline) of the population, yet we lead the way in abortion here in America. The numbers don't lie; the majority of abortions are not being performed because of self-care or even health care. It's being performed because over 50 years ago, a eugenics and racist woman successfully convinced black and brown women that the murder of their child was the solution for the black community to get on their feet. It's not! The answer is Jesus and God's original design for the family; strong marriages, strong parenting, and strong churches that nurture and foster families to grow in God and their assignment.
