The Facts About Pregnant Black Women

BBM Slideshow (13).png

"Abortion impacts African Americans at a higher rate than any other population group. In 2011, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released an Abortion Surveillance Report. According to that report, black women make up 14 percent of the childbearing population. Yet, 36 percent of all abortions were obtained by black women. At a ratio of 474 abortions per 1,000 live births, black women have the highest ratio of any group in the country. When you use those percentages, it indicates that of the over 44 million abortions since the 1973 Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court ruling, 19 million black babies were aborted. African Americans are just under 13 percent of the United States population." (AZ Capitol Times)

Why Are We Here?

"Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward."

Psalm 127:3

Children in the womb are God's reward, and He does not want women to abort their baby regardless of how he or she was conceived. Black Babies Matters has made it our mission to bring relevant news pertaining to this critical issue and work with the local church and local pregnancy centers that will walk moms through not only their pregnancies but also life! If you find yourself unexpectedly pregnant, reach out to BBM and allow us to walk with you through life's journey!

Did you know that the word "fetus" or "embryo" is a stage of human development, just like the word "newborn" and "toddler"? Regardless of the human development, a human is still a human.

When the Civil Rights movement began in 1964, it took longer than a day to see the change. Many of the leaders of the movement fought and died to see a change in America and today we see the progress. No different, the successful overturning of Roe v. Wade is only the beginning of the changes we want to see in our nation. Many abortion supporters do not know what it means to value the little life growing inside of a women and so we need advocates and supporters to use their voice to start conversations and make an impact.

One of the easiest ways to do this is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and offer the free gift of Salvation. When your family and friends get saved and the love of Christ is shed abroad in their heart, then it is so much easier to share why the killing of babies that God created is wrong.
