Tuesday, November 15, 2022: Melanie Standiford was anchor and news director at an NBC affiliate in North Platte, Nebraska. She participated in her church initiative to help make her hometown a sanctuary town for the unborn. She was not on the clock nor was she using her role as a newscaster to cover the story.
EWTN covered this news and said, "The station manager of KNOP put out a statement about Standiford's firing, saying, "KNOP's news personnel are not permitted, at any time and regardless of beliefs, to actively engage in any political activity for any candidate, party, or ballot initiative." Standiford shares whether she agreed to these terms when she was hired and whether she signed anything."
